Dr. Christine Blauvelt is a perinatologist and Assistant Professor at UCSF Health specializing in high-risk pregnancies. She manages patients with preexisting conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, and complications arising during pregnancy. Her research investigates how infections during pregnancy affect the placenta and contribute to complications like fetal growth restriction, preeclampsia, and preterm birth. Before pursuing medicine, she co-founded Duma Works, a mobile recruiting platform connecting employers and job seekers in Kenya, which she ran for two years after graduating from Princeton in 2012. She has received multiple teaching awards and the Young Investigator Award from the Perinatal Research Society.
