Cathy Chepkemboi is the Founder and CEO of Tushop, a Kenyan social commerce platform that enables community group-buying of groceries at wholesale prices. She started her first business at age 13 selling chapatis. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with a degree in International Relations, she joined Unilever where she worked for 3.5 years across Kenya and UK offices in brand management and sales roles. She then led Brand, Marketing and Product Development at Moko, a furniture startup, growing it from 4 to 700 mattresses/month and reaching $1M yearly revenue. She founded Tushop in 2021 to strengthen community welfare by providing more value with groceries, raising $3M in pre-seed funding in 2022.
