Brian Coppin is co-founder and CEO of Food Lover's Market, South Africa's largest privately-owned fresh produce retailer. Born into a retail family, his father Aubrey Coppin served as director at OK Bazaars for 40 years. Brian started his career at OK Bazaars and by age 21 pursued entrepreneurship. In 1993, he and brother Mike founded Fruit & Veg City in Access Park, Cape Town, which evolved into Food Lover's Market Holdings. The group now operates over 320 stores across Southern Africa including Food Lover's Market, FreshStop convenience stores, and Seattle Coffee Company. Under his leadership, the company secured R760 million investment from Actis in 2015. In 2024, Brian and Mike were named Business Leaders of the Year.
