Bertus Jacobs is a seasoned technology leader and serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in software development and innovation. His career began in 1983 when he was named Programmer of the Month by Commodore magazine for a Word Processor he developed. He holds a Bachelor of Sciences Honours in Computer Science (1990) and a BSc in Computer Science and Quantum Physics (1989) from the University of the Free State, where he also served as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science (1990-1992). Jacobs is best known as the CTO and Co-Founder of IoT.nxt (2015-2023), where he developed a world-leading IoT framework. Under his leadership, IoT.nxt won the 2017 MTN M2M Overall IoT Winner and Best Commercial IoT Solution awards. He received the 2018 Kovsie Ambassador's Award from the University of the Free State. Currently, he serves as Chief Technology Officer at Ironwood.Aero Smart Aviation Solutions and Director at CarbonPivot. His expertise includes C#, agile methodologies, Microsoft SQL Server, and IoT solutions.
