Barnabé Kikaya Bin Karubi is a distinguished Congolese scholar, diplomat, and statesman born September 22, 1954. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and Journalism from Boston University (1989) and a degree in English Language and Literature from University of Lubumbashi. His career spans academia and high-level diplomacy: Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at University of Kinshasa since 2005, Distinguished Research Associate at University of Johannesburg's Centre for African Diplomacy and Leadership. He served as Minister of Information (2001-2003), Ambassador to Zimbabwe and UK (2009-2014), Chief Diplomatic Advisor to President Joseph Kabila (2015-2018), and Member of Parliament (2006). He was a lead negotiator during the 2001 Sun City peace negotiations and serves as Director at Feronia Inc since 2008.
