As the CEO of VoxCroft Analytics he is responsible for leading the founding team and over 70 highly skilled analysts, translators, developers, data-specialists, designers, administrative and financial specialists. With the support of his dedicated team he has guided the business from its inception to a profitable and growing global enterprise. Barend formerly worked for the US government as an open-source media / data expert, where he explored how big data and machine learning can further the fields of political / security risk analysis, democratic theory and media studies. He graduated cum laude from the University of Stellenbosch / Sciences-Po grande école, is a member of the Transformation Research Unit (TRU) and author of Defining Democracy in a Digital Age.
