
Anthony Owei is a multiple award-winning entrepreneur in the intersection of technology, agriculture and finance. His life goal is to create and support platforms for individual freedom (avenue for individuals to attain the peak of their potentials) and economic opportunities (wealth and employment creation). Inspired by the 2011 East African drought while living in Kenya, he returned to Nigeria and founded Tonyve Farms in 2014. To further deepen the solution to access to market, he founded Chicken Palace, a digital technology platform (www.chickenpalace.ng) that reduces post-harvest losses and increased incomes for smallholder farmers. He founded ePoultry in 2019, a digital technology company that eliminates inefficiencies in the livestock value chain by leveraging data analytics and cloud computing. Anthony holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Finance from United States International University. He is an MBA candidate with a food security specialty at Business School Netherlands on a Dutch Government Scholarship as an Orange Knowledge Programme Scholar. Recognized by President Obama as an Obama Africa Leader in 2019 for his work in the food security space, he was also named among Top 20 Young Innovators by RUFORUM in 2019. In 2020, he was named Top 40 under 40 CEOs Africa and Top 35 under 35 most outstanding young Africans. Same year, he was invited to the French-African Summit by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, an invitation extended to 1000 African entrepreneurs with 54 African Heads of States and government in attendance. Anthony was a guest speaker to the RUFORUM Triennial Conference in Cotonou, Benin in December 2021 where he addressed global delegates including 145 Vice Chancellors from 38 African countries, scientists, Ministers and other delegates on how to unlock jobs and wealth through the infusion of technology into agriculture and make it attractive to young Africans. His work has directly impacted several thousands of farmers (majorly women) in Nigeria and beyond, and has created thousands of direct and indirect jobs especially for women and youths in the poultry value chain. He is an inspirational figure for many young people across Nigeria and beyond.
