Alex Thomson

Alex Thomson is co-founder and CEO of Naked Insurance, South Africa's first fully digital insurance platform launched in 2018. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with over two decades of experience in the insurance industry. Thomson co-founded Quindiem Consulting in 2001, which was later incorporated into EY where he served as head of EY's Africa Actuarial Services and Director from 2011 to 2016. He pioneered the use of dynamic financial analysis to optimize capital usage and reinsurance purchasing in South Africa and Africa, with extensive experience in risk management, strategy and corporate finance for the insurance sector.
